Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Austin, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Texas run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Wow!! This is some authentic, flavorful Hawaiian food right here. Meats (we got the teriyaki chicken, kalbi & kalua pork) were so flavorful, juicy and tender. Also very friendly service!

I had the Teriyaki Chicken & BBQ mix plate and it was 10 out of 10. The teriyaki chicken was perfectly juicy yet grilled / crisped & flavored. Then the BBQ was out of this world delicious. The pasta salad served as a nice pallet refresher in between meats. Spot has good music (lots of patrons swaying to the songs lol) and staff was friendly / appreciative. This spot has character. Loved it!

I am not sure I can contribute what others have not already stated but can totally agree with other positive reviews. This food truck is in an actual food truck yard, so you have lots of parking, seating areas (covered and non), a variety of foods from other trucks (for dessert and second dinner or lunch) and bathrooms (porta potties). We went on a Saturday about 30 mins past opening. There was not a line but a constant flow of walkups. We ordered 3 spam musubi, a mix bbq plate (teriyaki chicken and kalbi beef ribs), and a teriyaki chicken plate. Everything was extremely flavorful (very well marinated) and fresh. You do get rice and macaroni salad (mayo base) as your sides. Very large servings, friendly staff, and great ambiance. We spent around $40 for everything with 2 sodas. I would encourage anyone to try just for the unique flavor.

Some of these reviews confuse me because we just had the BEST experience. The portions are huge, the food itself was absolutely delicious. We were tired of Hawaiian Broβs inconsistency and lack of service, this is definitely our replacement. I got the pork and my friend got the fried chicken, both were fresh, hot and delicious. My pork was so tender and the sauces were so good. The gentleman serving us was super friendly and we will 100% be back!!

Rating: 2.5/5 [dine in] We saw on their Instagram that theyβre selling the food truck and moving back to Hawaii, with their last day of service on July 18th, so we had to give it a try. The truck is located in a spacious food truck park with plenty of tables set up on green turf and a decent-sized dirt parking lot. We came on the last Saturday around 1:30 PM. There was a 45-minute wait, and they had already run out of the weekly special (garlic shrimp). To our surprise, their timing estimate was spot-on. The portions were big and everything looked delicious, but the meat themselves were all lacking flavor so youβll 100% need the sauces. Austin Food Adventure Special ($16.50): Kalbi, chicken katsu, a slice of spam, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of macaroni salad. The chicken katsu was nicely breaded and fried but was tasteless, so we ended up dunking it in the katsu sauce. The kalbi didnβt seem marinated and was equally flavorless. Surprisingly, the spam was the best protein on the plate but the standout item, though, was the macaroni salad. Red Rocks Special ($16): Korean fried chicken, teriyaki chicken, kalbi, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of macaroni salad. The Kore
